No Fixed Mix 2025

As we welcome spring with open arms, so too does our No Fixed Mix 2025 edition. No Fixed Mix is our home-grown initiative aimed at improving the gender balance in technical sound roles.

We’re excited to announce this year’s workshops will include an overview of the audio post industry, sound design, bespoke composition and mixing for the big-screen. We are delighted to welcome Dr Leslie Gaston-Bird CAS MPSE this year as our guest lecturer. @leslie.gaston is Past President and Fellow of the Audio Engineering Society and a Re-Recording Mixer and Sound Editor specialising in features and documentaries.

We’re thrilled to launch our first No Fixed Mixer this year. Taking place at the end of our programme, this mixer offers a great opportunity for all alumni to connect, share experiences, and network with each other, as well as with String and Tins staff and industry professionals alike.

Each successful applicant will have access to a free 12-month subscription licence to @avid.protools Studio™, @nugenaudio’s NUtility Toolkit and @nativeinstruments iZotope’s Mix and Master bundle so that they can continue to develop their audio post-production skills.

Applications are now open with details on our website. The deadline for submissions is midnight on Monday March 24th at 09:00, Interested female and non-binary 18+ applicants, follow the link below!
